As part of fulfilling our mission to EQUIP and EMPOWER grassroots urban leaders we offer various classes to nonprofit leaders in the community. We encourage you to check below for current and upcoming classes.
We also host one signature event- a golf tournament- to help raise funds for MLF in order to provide the resources our members and partners need.
Charity to Change
A city’s faith community has tremendous resources that can help renew that city if it is meaningfully and
intentionally engaged. By growing in their awareness of the assets that are currently present in both their
neighborhoods and congregations, and in their skill at networking to activate the resources they have identified,
congregations possess the powerful capability for action that leads to lasting and sustainable change for the
common good.
City based cohorts of church leaders and Local Leadership Foundations will walk together through the initiative that couples online asynchronous learning, coaching and personalized work plans. The cohort will work collectively to identify, plan and implement a collaborative project that connects the abundant gifts within their congregations to the needs of their cities.
We currently have 13 individuals in our Charity to Change classes and they have completed 8 of the 9 course topics.
We will begin a new set of courses in August 2024. Check here and our social media for information on how to sign up for that cohort.
Turning Donors Into Champions
Memphis Leadership Foundation will conduct the Turning Donors into Champions workshop on Monday, June 3rd 2024 from 9am – 4pm. The location of the training will be provided to registered attendees. Lunch will be provided.
This course is presented by Larry Lloyd and will cover various topics to help nonprofit leaders and fundraisers better understand and cultivate relationships with their donors.
This course is provided free of charge.
