MLF celebrated our first inaugural Leadership Council meeting on September 18th at Streets Ministry. The Leadership Council is made up of former MLF board members. Dave Hillis, President of Leadership Foundations, was the keynote speaker. He was followed by a special presentation.
The Fred L. Davis Leadership Award was established to honor various urban leaders and pioneers that have helped shaped Memphis…building playgrounds in our city. The honoree will be a person who exemplifies Mr. Davis’ leadership qualities: a strong faith, tenacity, vision and the ability to get things done for Christ and the city.
This year’s award was presented to Howard Eddings. Mr Eddings has given leadership and vision in the heart of Memphis for more than thirty years. He started his ministry career with urban Young Life, then for 24 years with MLF…seven as vice president and 14 as MLF’s CEO and now with a brand new venture he started: RedZone Orange Mound.
The night wrapped up with a video showing Mr. Eddings throughout out the years.
