The Memphis Leadership Foundation (MLF) appreciate and need the contributions of talent, skills, time, and financial support of people just like you in order to accomplish our mission. MLF serves the urban poor through the development and operation of programs that empowers Memphis' inner city poor toward spiritual vitality and economic self-reliance. To address some of the most pressing needs in our communities, MLF has established and serves as the parent organization, partner, or affiliate of over 27 ministries focusing on five key areas of service.
Whether you would like to volunteer or become a donor, there is something here at MLF for everybody. There is no shortage of ways to "get connected" to a cause by getting involved. Below are some examples of how you can become a part of the MLF family.
Make a Difference
Donate:
MLF relies on the financial support of socially responsible individuals, corporations, foundations and agencies. By making a tax-deductible donation, you will help create a brighter future for our young people.
Mentor or Volunteer:
Our mentors are supported with training and guidance from our staff and are asked to make a minimal time commitment to provide the inspiration, encouragement and guidance that our young people so sorely need to achieve their personal, academic and career goals.
We are continuously looking for individuals to lend their time to conduct workshops, serve as guest speakers, tutors, or even assist in our administrative office.
In-Kind Goods and Services
We are continuously seeking donations for books, clothing and other items. Professional expertise such as computer skills, sewing, knitting, math, performing arts, visual arts, music, typing, graphic design, photography, physical education and many other skills can also be helpful.
Be part of the solution... Make A Difference!

For over 20 years, Memphis Leadership Foundation has been committed to empowering under-resourced men, women, boys, and girls in Memphis’ urban communities.
As part of our ministries to serve the needs of people who are lost, disposed, helpless, and hopeless, we are honored to work with donors to facilitate their community investment and offer a broad range of ministries/programs and services that meet the needs of the urban poor. With your support, we help children and youth succeed, strengthen families, promote self-sufficiency, support the vulnerable and aging population, build vital and safe neighborhoods, encourage work over welfare, and empower urban individuals to economic stability through home ownership.
Please partner with us to help impact lives and build a stronger Memphis community. Together, we can make a difference!

Matching Gifts
Many companies (both large and small) offer employee matching gift programs. For instance, when an employee makes a donation to a cause or non-profit organization, the corporation will “match” that donation with an equal (or greater) amount to the same group. Many donors may work for companies with matching gift programs and can double the impact of their donation by soliciting a matching gift from their employer. Check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gifts program.
In-kind Gifts
Donate in-kind gifts such as new toys, stickers, hand-held video games, journals, store gift cards, disposable cameras, etc. to give to children. We especially need small gifts for teenage girls and boys of all ages. You can do this individually or organize a gift-drive at your workplace, church, youth group or family events. Please contact Chermella Woods at 901.729.2931 for guidelines and a current "Wish List" of items needed.
Donate Your Vehicle
Thinking about selling or trading in your car, SUV, boat or truck? Donate it to Memphis Leadership Foundation (MLF) instead and turn your automobile into a life-saving machine. By donating your car to MLF you will get rid of that unwanted vehicle without the hassle and expense of trying to sell it while supporting our ministries/programs. Plus, you may be eligible to receive a tax deduction for the sale price of the donated vehicle. Donating your car to MLF is fast and easy. We even pick up the vehicle at no expense to you!
